Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day Weekend seems to always kick off the excitement of Summer. I cannot say this one was full of actual sunshine, but it was full of hypothetical sunshine!

It all started Thursday night as we said goodbye to one of the buyers, Erin. A bunch of us from work went to Happy Hour and just enjoyed laughter and each other.

Friday Nick and I headed to the exciting land of Tulsa. We met Dad and Brenda at Steven & Ashley's house and took off for DOLLY PARTON!!!!! Brenda and I happily set back to watch the goddess in action. Dolly ruled that stage. She played instruments, talked to the crowd, danced around and just sang like a siren of the sea. Dolly is such a performer!!! Dad and Nick were left in the casino gambling a bit and just waiting around for us! I sure didn't want the concert to end!

We spent all Saturday just hanging out with the kiddos. Rex is now 2 months old so he doesn't do much but look cute! Ashley, Brenda and I went looking around in town then we came back and just enjoyed life. Nick, Steven and I went to the golf course and had a little fun golfing. We even found a turtle! They have such a sweet little life. I just love being around them so much!

We headed back Sunday as Nick's parents were going to cookout for all of us. Sean and Karen, Justin and Lindsay came over. We watched the basketball game and just laughed a lot as we always do with Sean and Karen! Monday it was rainy, but it didn't stop the fun. We went out to Jason and Angela's new farm. They have all sorts of animals. We played with the animals then set outside under the cabana as it lightly rained! Sean and Karen came, too! We have the best time with all of them. We just tell stories and laugh way too much.

We moved in to Nick's parents house as the move finalizes. We try to do our own thing, but also I don't want to step on any toes so I want to keep the house in order and help out as much as possible. It is very wonderful they opened their doors to us! We don't know when everything will come together as we have a contract on a house, but we are going through appraisals and all that jazz.

Summer is officially here in my eyes. I'm ready for the sunshine!!!

Sunshine and Laughter

The weekends are always too short. I looked in the mirror to see sun kissed shoulders yesterday and I smiled because I love sunshine.

Friday night Nick was flying in from Las Vegas so I went out to visit Glenn and Andrea. David and Jana came over as well to eat. We had a really great time. We took pics of Jana, her dog and David by the lake. It was so great for an evening to forget all the stresses of moving. Saturday I went to lunch with Karen and Geoff came over to play with Nick so we all sat on the patio just enjoying life and hanging out. I did mow while the boys did some work on my new car. I sure will miss mowing. Justin and Lindsey came over and hung on the patio after Geoff left. We spent the rest of the night just getting ready for the movers to come. Sunday I went and hung out with Wendy, again, just enjoying life with her. I took the cat over to the Grays so he wouldn't go insane with the dogs. He isn't too happy. He did sleep with me last night, but he was back under the bed this morning. I have fun walking the dogs, it's great exercise... especially when they see a cat and dart off, and I run full speed to contain them!

I love to pack the weekends full of sunshine and friends! We don't even know what tomorrow holds at this point so it is nice to milk every ounce of happiness we can. I haven't been to church in a bit and I am really craving it. We've had so much to do on Sundays, and then yesterday I had to get the rest of the things out of the house over to the Grays that we are keeping. I will watch on podcast, but it isn't the same. I really pray we can find a church when we move that we just love. It gets so easy just to sleep in, but it's simply lazy of us.

Anyway, that's life around here. Dolly Parton and the family coming up next weekend... YEEHAW!!!

Golf Golf Golf

I don't really dread Mother's Day weekend anymore, but it does eat away at me as I scroll through social media. Yes, yes, I have an amazing stepmother and mother in law, yes, I do. That doesn't mean it takes away the pain of not having my mother on this special day when people are treating their own like queens. Anyway, so usually I just go about it and love on the moms I have on that day. We actually took a day of golfing in on the actual Mothers Day. Our friend, Sean is a pro golfer at a country club in Dallas. He was playing in the Pro Am Tournament to kick off the week of the Bryon Nelson at Four Seasons. Nick and I agreed to go with the family to watch him and just enjoy the day. Then he asked Nick to caddy and it was such an honor, Nick got so excited!

Right now I only wish people would bug the heck out of me about when I am having kids instead of constantly talk to me about Vegas. Life revolves around all of the stress right now as we try to iron it out. Somehow each thing God has taken care of so I just sit back and well, actually I bury my head in the sand, but I also just know God is taking care of the big things. Like our house selling in 9 days. Boom. Nick out there looking for houses. Who knows, it might fall through, but it might also work quickly. Who knows where I will work. I've gotten some crazy opportunities sent my way the past week so it could be an amazing journey. We had a really great weekend so that's what counts. Taking things step by step.
